Craig
Weatherup retired in January 2003 as the founding Chairman and CEO
of The Pepsi Bottling Group (PBG). PBG is a Fortune 200 company with
nearly $11 billion in revenue. The company completed an initial public
offering on March 31, 1999.
Craig began his career in 1974 as Pepsi-Cola Marketing Director for
the Far East stationed in Tokyo, Japan. He spent the next eight years
in international operations in a variety of positions. In 1982, Craig
joined the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group and was named President of the
division in 1986. Craig was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Pepsi-Cola
North America in 1990. In 1996, he was named President of PepsiCo,
Inc., and later that year, appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
of Pepsi-Cola Company.
Mr. Weatherup currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Federated
Department Stores, Inc., Starbucks Coffee Company, The Arizona Nature
Conservancy and Carnegie Hall. He also is an active supporter of Arizona
State University, the Bishop's Fund for Children in Connecticut and
Tuskegee University.
Before
joining PepsiCo, Craig worked for General Foods Corporation. A native
of Syracuse, N.Y., he holds a bachelor of science degree in
accounting from Arizona State University. He enjoys hiking and reading.
Craig and his wife, Connie, have four children and live in Scottsdale,
Arizona, and the Adirondack Mountains of New York.
